Today I finally managed to do something productive. I dragged my sorry excuse of a carcass out of bed and wandered to a Spanish school that had caught my eye. Castle Xateva is a non-profit education and care centre, helping street kids and providing Spanish tuition. Every penny you pay for your accommodation and schooling goes to help the kids. There was also the option to help out in the mornings with some volunteer work. This could include helping teach them English, as well as playing football and other sports during break times. It seemed pretty much perfect.
After a productive meeting I decided it’s definitely for me and I take the plunge, arranging Spanish lessons for the first time. A daunting and exciting prospect, and one that hopefully will bear fruit.
