After yesterdays attempts to dive ever deeper, I’ve woken up with a rotten head cold and chesty cough. Of course this has nothing to do with the amount I’ve been drinking on this god forsaken island. I opt not to dive today; it is pretty dangerous to do so if you’re not feeling 100%.
Instead we finish off the theory and take our final exams. Then I make a bee line for my bed and crash out for the rest of the day. That is until the evening, when for some reason I decide to go out again. It probably has something to do with some friends we made in Antigua have turned up. It’s not that much fun and turns out to be a bit of a car crash. This place is stupid. Really stupid. I really can’t wait to get back to real life, and my mission to try to do something good in the world, rather than hang around these bunch of idiots. Oooops! Did I say that? Yes. Yes I did. And it feels pretty damn good.
I’m punished for my hatred of this place in the night, and for the first time since leaving home I really crash down with a heavy fever. I wake up freezing cold and sweating like a pig, and I deposit my own body weight into the bathroom sink just in time. It’s lucky we are right next door to the washrooms, otherwise it could have been really nasty. I think it’s from something I ate earlier on, but it leaves me shaking, weak, and aching, cursing this damn island all the more.
Perhaps things will get better over the next few days?
Exam!
