It’s a slower life down in San Juan Del Sur.  Nobody is in a rush.  There’s been some crap things happen to me here, but it’s beginning to feel like home.  I desperately need to leave.  It’s getting bad when people are shouting your name across the street, beeping as they drive by, or yelling ‘ESCOTIA!” from behind a bar.  Thursday can’t come quick enough.

Here I stand waiting on someone to come into the hostel.  It has a lot of potential, and in my opinion will be one of the best places in town when it’s finished.  The problem is that it isn’t.  The pool has not been started, and the roof top bar and terrace consists of a few metal beams and a lot of sky.  The hostel is clean though, brand new, great showers and light, airy rooms.  Once it’s complete, hopefully sooner rather than later, it’s going to be pretty special.  So long as people don’t call it the punching donkey…

So a couple of uneventful days go by.  I’m getting pretty lazy at the moment and yearn for pastures new.  Costa Rica is just around the corner.  With some good fortune, I can put these boozy nights behind me and see the rest of the world.  At least for a while anyway; South America beckons.
